ABVP seeks action against Amnesty International

Seeking stringent action against Amnesty International India and United Theological College for allegedly indulging in anti-national activity, students took out a protest rally in Hubballi on Tuesday under the banner of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP).
Hundreds of students, mainly girls, led by ABVP office-bearers, began the protest march from Vidyanagar and covered the thoroughfares of the city, including Hosur Circle, Basava Vana, Kittur Chennamma Circle, before reaching the Mini Vidhana Soudha.
Raising slogans seeking action against anti-national elements, the protesters sought action against both Amnesty International India and Theological College, Bengaluru, which had provided space for organising the event, Broken Families.
They alleged that by trying to project the Indian Army, which was trying to curb terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir, in bad light, the organisers had indulged in anti-national activities.
They sought the immediate arrest of those who reportedly raised Pro-Pakistan slogans during the programme.
After staging a protest in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha, the protesters submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister seeking action against those who indulged in anti-national activity. They warned that the ABVP would intensify the agitation if action was not taken against those who had tried to project the Indian Army in bad light.
