Lucknow: As many as three flights were cancelled and over a dozen delayed at Lucknow’s Amausi airport because of foggy weather on Thursday. Of those cancelled, two were from Delhi and one from Bengaluru. Airport authorities said most flights that got delayed were from Delhi which has been witnessing heavy fog since earlier this week. According to airport authorities, Jet airways flight (2443) and Etihad flight (8931) were to arrive at Lucknow airport at 7.10am but were cancelled because of low visibility because of fog. Likewise, Indigo 6am flight from Bengaluru too had to be cancelled after thick fog enveloped the Amausi airport. Air traffic remained disrupted till 11am, after which situation improved and flight operation became normal. The situation again deteriorated in the evening after 6pm even as a foggy weather returned to haunt the air traffic. The situation left scores of Delhi and other destination bound passengers stranded for hours at the Lucknow airport. Airport director, P K Srivastava said AAI was providing whatever possible facilities to passengers facing problems because of the delay.
