Visakhapatnam: Firebrand leader of YSRCP and MLA Roja lambasted the ruling Telugu Desam Party for the ongoing rift between zilla parishad chairperson Janimun and Minister for Tribal Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Roja alleged that there was no protection to women under the TDP regime. “There is a violent history against the women, which include murder of Chittor mayor, attack on a woman tahsildar Vanajakshi by MLA, attack of MRO by a sarpanch in Chittoor and others,” she recalled. Roja faulted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for turning a blind eye towards women woes. She demanded dismissal of the Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, if the Chief Minister was serious about discipline in the party. She said it was unfortunate that instead of taking action, the Chief Minister has been protecting perpetrators of crime. “Number of students committed suicide in Narayana Colleges and there is no word about taking any action against Minister P Narayana, who owns the colleges,” she remarked. Regarding MLA Kalpana joining TDP, Roja said there might have been a digital transaction between the TDP and Kalpana or lure of a responsible position in the government. “It is the TDP which defeated Kalpana. YSRCP leader YS Jagan sympathised with her and made her win the 2014 elections. Naidu came to power by backstabbing his father in law and founder of Telugu Desam NT Rama Rao and continuing the same politics,” she charged.
