Mr. Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, General Secretary, Hyderi Educational & Social Welfare Society, Mr. Syed Qaseem Hyder Rizvi, President, All India Shia Samaj, Delhi submitted a memorandum to Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister for External Affairs Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Hon’ble Union Minister for Minorities & Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in New Delhi.

All be well aware of the concerns that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is severely lacking behind in fighting terrorism, providing freedom of religion, discrimination & oppression on minorities, protection & preservation of heritage sites and safety for all Muslims during pilgrimage. Following the dogmatic Wahhabi ideology, analogous to ISIS, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been systematically oppressing the minorities as well as demolishing cultural and religious heritage. The desecration of Jannat-ul-Baqee, a cemetery of revered personalities of Islam in the city of Medina, in year 1925 was the beginning of the repressive regime. The rebuilding and restoration of Jannat-ul-Baqee will be a good start to bring normalcy that we believe will be equivalent to defeating ISIS and like-minded organizations.
Requested the position of authority may enable you to demand actions from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We request you to leverage that and here are some options for your consideration:
Submit a dossier in United Nations to outline the destruction of all heritage sites and human rights violations.
Demand the Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to rebuild and restore Jannat-ul-Baqee, Jannat-ul-Moalla and other historical Islamic sites as well as prevent harassments at places where pilgrims visit to pay homage.
Demand United Nations’ UNESCO and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to make all important sites as World Heritage Sites so they are protected for future generations.
Demand the Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to permit women to enter the Jannat-ul-Baqee and Jannat-ul-Moalla, extend visiting hours and allow pilgrims to pay homage and recite supplications without any interference or harassment.
